The Story of Bickford Paper
In 1957 Harold Bickford launched his paper company into a sea of established competition. He was convinced that his personal service would earn enough customer loyalty to succeed. For over 60 years that formula has indeed been successful. Personal service remains the hallmark of The Bickford Paper Company.
Since 1957 printing and copying technology has changed dramatically and our product line has expanded with it. Choosing the right papers for the job and the equipment it will be run on requires expert advice. In our tradition of personal service, we have one of the most knowledgeable and friendly customer service teams in the industry to help you make those choices. Bickford Paper is Founded
In 1957 Harold Bickford established The Bickford Paper Company in Buffalo, NY with a mission to deliver top quality office papers to local businesses.
'74
Growth
The Bickford Paper Company continued to grow and thrive. Harold’s son Ted joined the business to learn and continue it’s growth.
'80's
Industry in Flux
The industry changed dramatically with the expansion of paper manufacturing and excess supply. This presented a formidable challenge for a family owned local business.
'90's
Steady Planning
Bickford Paper continued to maintain our core customer base, despite new competition. All the while strategizing our growth.

Passing the Torch
With the passing of Harold Bickford his son Ted took the reins. Ted Bickford took control of the company with the vision of growing the business and expanding into new markets.

The Perfect Opportunity
RIS Paper closed their Buffalo operations which opened the opportunity for growth Ted Bickford was looking for. Ted hired Karen Schwartz from RIS Paper. Karen had several year’s of experience having started at Seneca Paper in 1985. She brought her extensive experience and knowledge of paper and the Buffalo Printing industry to Bickford Paper.

New Product Lines
Bickford Paper continued to grow into the commercial and digital print markets, while still maintaining our original customer base. We expanded our offerings by adding new vendors such as Neenah Paper, Buffalo Envelope, Zapco, and Western States Label and Envelopes

Filling a Void
The Paper Shop closed leaving a gap in the printing paper supply for the smaller printers. Bickford Paper reassured all these customers that we were there for them and would be sure they would still be able to get that quick store type service.

A New Platform
We launched our on-line store. This brought enhanced customer service and streamlined operations by offering one more platform for our customers to order products.
'25 - Today
Keeping Up
Bickford paper releases a brand new website built on top of our digital store. We are trying to keep up with the times while also maintaining our outstanding and personal customer service.
